Information on Exams
Module Exams (Modulabschlussprüfungen, MAPs) at the Research Programme on Religious Communities and Sustainable Development (Gräb, Frost, Öhlmann)
The exam consists of three parts.
- Short input on your chosen focus topic (approx. 5 minutes)
Please choose a topic you would like to focus on from the content of the seminar. Please prepare three theses on this focus topic. The exam will start with your presentation of these theses.
Please write a brief handout on your three main theses (Thesenpapier) beforehand and submit it at the latest 24 hours before the exam.
- Discussion about your chosen focus topic (approx. 10 minutes)
We will then discuss your focus topic based on your theses and your short input. It is expected that you show in-depth knowledge in the field of your focus topic during your presentation and the following discussion and have critically engaged with your topic. It will be an advantage if you relate your topic to other topics in the seminar and beyond. Moreover, you should make sure that you present your theses in a structured way.
- Discussion about further contents of the seminar (approx. 5 minutes)
Please note that all texts and topics discussed or handed out in class are relevant and can be part of the exam. In the last part of the exam we will ask questions about topics and texts from the seminar that are not related to your own focus topic.
